All Mamie Coco Atelier pieces are handcrafted in Portugal in accordance with recognised quality standards. The precious metals used are certified by the INCM Assay Office.
A small number of pieces were created in our original Bristol studio. These have been hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay Office and include the Common Control Mark, recognised in Portugal and many other countries that are signatories to the
International Convention on Hallmarking. You can check what these marks mean here. Upon arrival, these marks were also verified by the INCM Assay Office.
In Portugal, hallmarking is mandatory for solid gold pieces weighing over 0.5 grams. We choose to hallmark all of our pieces — even those below this threshold — as a way of affirming their authenticity and quality.
The authenticity of each hallmark can be verified through the INCM website.
You can check the legal hallmarks up close here.
If needed, you can also consult a list of official valuers of precious metals and gemological materials through the INCM.
If you have any enquiries or need further clarification do not hesitate to contact us.
Daily Precious Metals Prices
The value of precious metals depends on international market rates. Gold bars have their price set daily by the Banco de Portugal, but the price in Portugal is influenced by quotations from the London Bullion Market Association (where prices are set in US dollars per ounce).
Under Article 63 of the RJOC (Law No. 98/2015 of August 18), we inform you that the daily prices of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium can be consulted on the website of the Banco de Portugal or on the website of the London Bullion Market Association.
